Foraminiferal Atlas, which includes 100 speciesis, is prepared. It will serve as a determinant. The age of pre-Oligocene sediments (perspective for hydrocarbons) from the Silesian Nappe was determined. Paleocene age of the lower part of the Sushmanets Formation is defined. Biozonal divisions based on planktonic and benthic foraminifera are refined and detailed in the Paleocene-Eocene deposits. The identified foraminiferal assemblages suggest that the paleobathymetry of the Carpathian basin was differentiated on the area and varied from abyssal-bathyal depths during Paleocene-Early Eocene up to bathyal-sublittoral depths during Middle-Late Eocene. In the studied deposits, the Cretaceous and Paleogene boundary is proved by full change of systematic planktonic foraminifera composition, which corresponds to a global extinction of biota. The Paleocene and Eocene boundary is marked by a sharp change of benthic foraminifera composition.
