Object - seed potential and planting material of Scots pine, technology of seed production and growing of high quality planting material of Scots pine; aim - improvement of technology of seed production and growing of high quality planting material of Scots pine from seeds with improved hereditary properties in the forest nurseries of the Left-bank Forest Steppe of Ukraine; methods - breeding, silvicultural, biometrical, statistical; novelty - high level of interpopulation diversity of cones from model trees was revealed; a list of plant growth regulators, fungicides and fertilizers with the highest influence on yield and quality of Scots pine planting material was determined; positive effect of superabsorbents application during forest planting was proved; results - agricultural techniques of Scots pine planting material growing was improved using modern environmentally safe plant growth regulators, fungicides, complex fertilizers, and superabsorbents application during forest planting was improved. The suggested measures help to improve the quality of planting material, the growth and condition of forest plantations. Recommended methods and technology have been implemented in the forest practice; sphere of application - forestry.
