Essay

In a spatial and temporal aspect, the taxonomic composition, abundance and biomass of macrozoobenthos of the Danube lakes have been studied. For the first time under new environmental conditions, the studies were carried out in a year-round monitoring regime on the littoral and sublittoral of lakes. A total of 174 species were found, in 22 cases the definition was brought to higher taxa. For the Danube lakes, 60 species are listed for the first time.
