Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of 137Cs migration intensity from soil to potatoes, depending on the mineral and organic-mineral fertilizing system and the crop varietal characteristics in the Zhytomyr Polissya in the remote period after the Chernobyl NPP accident. 137Cs transfer factor for local for the Polissya zone potato varieties of different maturity groups have been defined. It was suggested to use the selection of varieties and plant development phases as an effective measure to reduce of 137Cs flow to potato tubers. The efficiency of mineral and organic fertilizers in order to reduce the 137Cs accumulation with potato tubers has been defined. Proposals concerning potato tubers cultivation at the radioactively contaminated areas by using the crop varietal characteristics and agrochemical measures have been developed.
