Usatenko I. Social and political development of the capitalist society in the conception of I. Wallerstein

The thesis summarized I. Wallerstein’s recent contribution dedicated to highlighting the diverse aspects of the world-systems analysis as well as identification of the key periods of his scientific research. Intellectual impacts of other thinkers have been studied. A wide range of problems, which were connected with the emergence of the capitalist world-system and structural elements of the social development, were analyzed. The main methods of the social foundation, roles of state institutions and geoculture were emphasized. Contribution of I. Wallerstein to the discourse of the antisystemic protest have been determined.
