Rumiantsev M. Features of natural regeneration of the main forest forming species in oak forests in the Left-bank Forest-Steppe

Object - features of forming and growth for natural oak stands in the Left-Bank Forest Steppe and their natural seed regeneration; aim - study of features of advance, accompanying and subsequent regeneration in oak forests and fairly fertile oak forests and development of recommendations concerning prospects for the natural oak forests' seed regeneration; methods - silvicultural, taxation, breeding, statistical; novelty - recent data for quantitative and qualitative characteristics of advance, accompanying and subsequent regeneration were received for economically valuable species in natural oak stands in the Left-Bank Forest Steppe; in oak forests in the region, modern condition of natural young stands of the main forest forming species was estimated; forming features were identified for advance growth of economically valuable species after the targeted measures; results - scientific recommendations were developed concerning prospects of advance growth of economically valuable species and the natural oak forests' seed regeneration in the region. The suggested measures help to improve for the natural oak forests' seed regeneration. The results of research have been adopted for implementation in the management of forests in the region; sphere of application - forestry.
