This thesis studies the problem of developing psychological features of academic communication between student teachers of hearing-impaired people. This paper offers theoretical generalization and experimental research of the problem of developing academic communication between student teachers of hearing-impaired people. The thesis highlights communication styles [communication as part of (academic) activity; communication aimed at personal development prospects; communication aimed at career growth prospects; communication aimed at in-depth mastering of a profession; communication for the sake of communication (verbalization); communication filled with certain content; communication for the purpose of maintaining or establishing interpersonal relations]; defines the types (life building-oriented, culture-oriented, education-and-performance-oriented, professional creativity-oriented), criteria and levels (initial, low, medium, high) of development of academic communication between student teachers of hearing-impaired people; outlines the range of contacts in the following relations: student – hearing-impaired child or children; student – student or group of students; student – lecturer(s). Psychological approaches to and a model for development of effective academic communication between student teachers of hearing-impaired people have been devised.
