For the first time in the Ukrainian historiography the thesis work turned out to be a comprehensive study of the foreign policy of Great Britain in the Middle East during the "Mosul crisis", the creation of a new system of international relations in the context of the "Eastern question". The process connected with establishing of English control over the oil resources of Iraq in the period from 1918 to 1929, the implementation and evolution of British policy according to the issues of so-called "the Lausanne economic legacy" with Turkey in the period from 1923 to 1929 have been revealed on the basis of a wide range of historical sources and scientific literature. Attention has also drawn to the dynamics of changes in British policy in the region since the beginning of the Lausanne conference in 1923 and to completion of "Mosul crisis."
