Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the study of the distribution of glia-specific proteins in different brain regions of rats and gerbils in terms of postnatal development, the impact of stressors and effect of alpha-ketoglutarate. It was shown that the level of proteins S-100b and glial fibrillary acidic protein was specified in newborn rats and gerbils, and gradually increased during development in all brain areas, indicating the astroglia formation and activation of reactive astrogliosis. It was shown that the brain aging process is directly linked to demyelination processes. The pituitrin-izadrin heart induced damage and influence of cadmium ions at the dose of 1.0 mg/kg led to development of the reactive astrogliosis and the risk of neurodegenerative disorders development. The use of alpha-ketoglutarate under conditions of aging and pituitrin-izadrin of heart damage can prevent the development of reactive astrogliosis development.
