Tsvyakh O. The features of the prooxidant-antioxidant state of the stomach tissues with the deficiency and excess of melatonin

The thesis deals with the changes in the prooxidant-antioxidant system of the stomach tissues of rats with the deficiency and excess of melatonin. The deficiency of melatonin due to light influence when simulating gastropathy led to a disbalance in the prooxidant-antioxidant system, which can be seen in the growth of primary and secondary products of peroxide oxidation and the decrease in the antioxidant protection enzyme activity. The introduction of the exogenous melatonin under conditions of modeling the immobilization stress in the short-term experiment provided hastroprotection by reducing the degree of activation of lipid peroxidation. While in the long-term experiment under conditions of immobilization stress modeling and chemical gastritis modeling against the background of short and long-term hyperfunction of the epiphysis the shift in the balance of the prooxidant-antioxidant system in the direction of pro-oxidants. The gastropathy modeling against the background of the introduction of the exogenous melatonin led to less significant morphological changes while preserving the functional activity of the glandular epithelium.
