Bieloborodova-Khrul D. Ukrainian folk ballad: specificity of the chronotope

The thesis is the first comprehensive study of the category of space-time by the example of Ukrainian folk ballads. It was realized an analytical review of literature on the main aspects of the problem in the folklore and interdisciplinary discourse, it was characterized the current state of scientific understanding of the chronotope. It was divided three main periods that can demonstrate the scientific progress in the diachronic aspect of the research of the chronotop in Ukrainian ballads. It was examined the main features of the categories of temporality and spatiality in the discourse of the national perception of the world as an example of folklore works of various genres. It was released the specificity of temporal relations of historical-heroic and family-popular texts. It was analyzed the basic concepts of space category in the Ukrainian folk ballads, the character system.
