Essay

The object of investigation is the process of flat face grinding. The purpose of the study is to improve the process of flat end grinding. Research methods and equipment - the theory of material processing by cutting, the position of analytical geometry, geometric computer modeling, the concept of 3D modeling, the theory of planning a multifactor experiment, a special bench based on a surface grinding machine. Theoretical and practical results are the use in practice of the proposed dependences for calculating the parameters of the contact zone of the RPK with the workpiece under various grinding conditions. The solution of the problems of replacing natural diamonds with SPA in diamond ruling pencils and the creation of rational conditions for their use. The design of a surface grinding machine with a vertical spindle is developed. Novelty - a method is proposed for controlling the area of the contact area of a circle with a part for flat face grinding by tilting the axis of rotation of the spindle. The conditions for the realization of various types of contact of the circle with the surface of the component are determined by determining the rational relationship between the values of the angle of inclination of the axis of rotation of the spindle, the depth of grinding and the diameter of the circle. For the first time, when grinding "on the pass" with a preliminary tilt of the axis of rotation of the spindle, the relationship between the deviation from the flatness of surfaces (concavity) and the processing conditions is established. For the first time, the role of transverse feed is established for flat face grinding with the previous inclination of the axis of rotation of the spindle in a multipass scheme. For the first time, through 3D modeling, it has been proved that pencils made from synthetic polycrystals of diamond can work at the level of natural diamonds and intensify the self-sharpening of diamond grains, greatly facilitating the control of the parameters of the contact zone of the circle with the workpiece. Degree of implementation - the results were introduced at OJSC Poltava diamond tool and in the educational process of the Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk. Scope of application - the results of work are used in the engineering industry.
