Essay

Object: Russian-Ukrainian relations in the 1990's. Purpose: to analyze the Russian socio-political thought about the foreign policy guidelines of independent Ukraine. Methods: analysis, systemic, ideological pluralism, forecasting, comparative. Results: for the first time Russian socio-political opinion on the foreign policy of Ukraine was analyzed, in particular, the attitude of Russian society towards the restoration of Ukraine's statehood, the assessments of Russian social and political thought regarding the evolution of Ukrainian-Russian relations, implementation of the western vector of Ukraine's foreign policy, Ukraine's participation in international organizations was founded out, changes in the content and strategic direction of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation towards Ukraine, which took place under the influence of the political processes in Russia itself was followed, the analysis of source-historical and historiographical material on the Russian socio-political thought regarding Ukraine's foreign policy, approaches to the clarification of the attitude of Russian political parties regarding Ukraine's foreign policy, the description of the Russian scientific-expert and analytical centers regarding the implementation of the foreign policy course of Ukraine has been improved. Scope of application: in the work of the relevant institutions of state governance, for the creation of manuals and methodological developments on the history of Russia and Russian-Ukrainian relations at the present stage.
