Essay

Research object - oak forest stands of Podillia. Goal - to carry out an analysis of the biotic diversity of forest ecosystems, the processes of reforestation and the formation of natural forest stands in the conditions of hornbeam oak forests of Podillia, the peculiarities of the introduction of environmentally based methods of forestry activities at enterprises. Research methods - forestry and taxiation; soil science; mathematical and statistical. Scientific novelty - the tendency to reducing the area of forest stands of natural origin and the predominance of derivatives of forest stands, which includes in the conditions of hornbeam oakeries, oak or absent, or its share ranges from single specimens to about 10%; two groups of associations, namely, hornbeam, hornbeam-birch and ash-larch, common oak, European beech - the last is characterized by lower acidity and a higher level of accumulation humus, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the upper 30 cm soil layer; the use of the typological potential of wood stands in conditions of hornbeam oakeries in Podillya fluctuate within 54-92%, and the average loss of productivity of stands is about 35%. Practical meaning - The revealed tendencies regarding a significant decrease of the areas of forests of natural origin indicate the need for practical measures to preserve and reproduce valuable forests, and to ensure their natural seed restoration.
