Essay

In this work, for the first time a microscopic Іsing-like model of spin-crossover compounds with two order parameters, which reflect magnetic and structural properties, have been built. In framework of this model it was found out that the external pressure causes a shift of the system from the region of first order phase transitions to the region of smooth transitions, and demonstrates the possibility to control a thermal spin transition. The thermal transitions between the diamagnetic and paramagnetic states of a material, which are accompanied by the volume changes of a molecular complex with central situated transition metal ion, have been studied based on the numerical Monte Carlo method. By real space renormalization method (scaling method) the critical point of the three-dimensional Іsing-like spin-crossover nanosystem was determined.
