Bushynska V. Assessment of development of regions of Ukraine in the conditions of formation of the knowledge economy.

The theoretical and applied aspects of evaluation of development of regions in the conditions of formation of the knowledge economy were developed. The evolution of theoretical views on the development of regional economy based on knowledge as the criteria of economic growth has been considered. It has been established that the knowledge economy acts as a key to the understanding of the interdependence between the use of the scientific potential and the socio-economic development. In addition, the necessity of continuous monitoring of the level of knowledge economy has been emphasizes. This will allow to make the right decisions, which in turn will lead to positive economic results, due to the development of knowledge economy. The system of evaluation criteria of knowledge economy in the regions based on the methodology KAM (Knowledge Assessment Methodology) has been developed. The results of the implementation showed that in most cases the region involved similar positions, regardless of the set of analyzed factors. The typology of regions on the basis of "the level of development of the knowledge economy" has been showed. Classification of regions was based on taxonomic indicator. This allowed not only to submit a rating according to the values of main indexes, that is, a knowledge index (KI) and the index of knowledge economy (KEI), as well as in relation to the main factors of development of economy based on knowledge. The rating assessment of the development of the knowledge economy in the regions of Ukraine has been done. That allowed to demonstrate the lack of significant interregional disparities in terms of development of knowledge economy. However, during the analyzed period is a noticeable lack of improvement in the overall level of knowledge economy. The model of dependence and spatial interaction among the regions has been developed. The integral indicator of assessment of the level of development of components of the knowledge economy in regions of Ukraine has been developed. The econometric model of the impact of knowledge-based economic development on the standard of living of the population in the regions of Ukraine has been developed.7452
