Tkachenko M. Biology of round goby Neogobius melanostomus (Pall., 1814) in marine and freshwater reservoirs of Azov-Black Sea region

The dissertation considers with biological features of the round goby Neogobius melanostomus (Pall., 1814) in marine and freshwater reservoirs of Azov-Black Sea region. It is established that the size-mass structure was differ under water salinity level. The morphological variability of individuals from different reservoirs was the most evident on the fins sizes and head. The biggest fertility were inherent to individuals from the Sea of Azov. Given that the round goby have a value for the fishing industry in the Azov Sea, the negative changes in the structure of its population were identified. This situation needs the implementation actions in management and legislation to reduce the fishing pressure on this species.
