Didenko M. Natural seed regeneration of European oak in the southern part of the Left-bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Object – fruiting of English oak, development and survival of its seedlings of natural seed origin in the southern part of the Left Bank Forest-steppe of Ukraine; the aim – revealing the peculiarities of English oak fruiting, formation of its natural renewal under forest canopy and in the clear-cut, and improvement of measures of establishment of natural oak forests of seed origin; methods – silvicultural, forest inventory, forest pathological, flotation, statistics; novelty – periodicity of good oak fruiting in the region was evaluated; influence of biotic damage on acorns germination and young growth condition was assessed; the structure, dynamics of spread and survival of English oak natural renewal was estimated depending on forest site conditions, age, relative stocking density of mother stands; results – peculiarities of oak natural stands forming are determined after different variants of looking after; technology of looking after natural oak regeneration in between rows of forest plantations in the clear-cuts has been improved; sphere of application – forestry.
