Essay

The thermodynamic properties of eight organic compounds, namely the enthalpy of combustion, formation, sublimation, evaporation and melting, as well as dissolution enthalpy in six organic solvents, have been investigated. Experimentally obtained values are compared with the theoretically calculated according to different schemes. The assumptions about intramolecular strains in the molecules of the investigated compounds and their mechanisms of solvation are made.
