Davydyuk L. Folklore narrative tradition of Western Polissia: statics and dynamics

An attempt to comprehend systematically the problems of folk non- fairytale prose in the unitary, thematic and formal aspects was made in the dissertation. The peculiarities, regional specificity and dynamics of the linguistic epic of Western Polissia as a part of the national narrative tradition are revealed. The authentic folk material presenting the folk narrative creativity of the Western Polissia is introduced in the scientific circulation, internal dynamic processes of the development of the thematic and formal plans for the expression of traditional meanings are revealed based on its analysis. It has been established that succession and the development of tradition at the thematic level are realized due to the interaction of various heterogeneous phenomena with gradual changes of the views to the older ones due to new developments at various stages of social development. According to this image of reality in narratives comes from different angles: mythological, apocryphal, concrete-historical, which demonstrate changes in the outlook of the people.
