Belemetsʹ N. Genus Spiraea (Rosaceae) species of natural flora of Ukraine (taxonomy, bioecological features, distribution, use)

The thesis is devoted to the study of taxonomy, biological features, extension and use of autochthonous species of Spiraea of the flora of Ukraine. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis (morphological-ecological-geographical, anatomical, chemotaxonomic, molecular-genetic), the additional diagnostic features were obtained, their taxonomic estimation was made, the taxonomic composition of the genus was specified. The state of populations of rare taxa S. pikoviensis and S. media subsp. polonica (in their locus classicus) was studied. For the first time, nine marker sequences of ITSI-5.8S-ITS2 claster of nuclear ribosomal genes of native species Spiraea of the flora of Ukraine were obtained. We deposited sequences S. litwinowii (MH370457), S. polonica (МН370458, МН 370459), S. ulmifolia (МН370460, МН370461) in GenBank and presented them for the first time. А new nomenclature combination was proposed in the rank of the series (Series Mediae (Pojark.) Belemetz, comb. et stat. nov., nom. provis.). Based on the results of a comprehensive critical-systematic analysis and existing materials on taxonomy, it has been established that the genus Spiraea in natural flora of Ukraine is represented by six species and one subspecies. It is proved the species specificity of S. pikoviensis, which is now known only from locus classicus (v. Pykiv, Vinnytsa region) and S. litwinowii.
