Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the determination of the conditions influence of mechanochemical and ultrasonic modification of binary oxide systems ZnO-MoO3, MoO3-CeO2 and ZnO-CeO2 on the physicochemical properties of the obtained composites. New methods have been developed for obtaining of nanosized ?- and ?-phases of ZnMoO4 (Ukrainian patents). For the first time, the formation of core – shell nanocomposites in the CeO2 – MoO3 system, where the core is CeO2, has been established. It was shown that in the ZnO-CeO2 system the formation of nanoparticles of these oxides without the formation of new compounds or composites is occured, but with close contact between them, which leads to their significant increase in photocatalytic activity in the photodegradation reaction of an aqueous solution of safranin T under the visible light action. It was established that modified MoO3-containing systems are characterized by high indicators of catalytic activity and selectivity in the reaction of selective oxidation of ethanol, renewable raw materials, to acetic aldehyde (yield 96-97%) at a low process temperature (200°C).
