Essay

A series of Ni-Fe bulk catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation process is tested at the atmospheric pressure conditions. Samples with high nickel concentrations exhibited higher activity compare to individual metals. The activity of obtained Ni-Fe catalysts supported onto different types of alumina carrier for the methanation of CO2 is studied. As shown, the type of the support plays a crucial role in CO2 conversion. The most active Ni-Fe supported catalyst is found to be obtained using α-Al2O3. The kinetic features of the methanation process have been studied and the possible mechanism for catalytic systems has been proposed. The power-law equation which is in good agreement with the experimental results is presented.
