Essay

The thesis provides the agroecological substantiation of conducting organic farming on the basis of integrative and geoinformation approaches. The study of the spatial heterogeneity of the distribution of agrochemical, ecological and toxicological indicators and the time dynamics of their changes in the soils of Kherson region is based on data of the last 47 years of research. Spatial-temporal modeling of the heterogeneity of the distribution of the studied parameters was carried out using GIS-technologies and multidimensional statistics. The lack of regular receipt and the required amount of mineral fertilizers, the influence of wind and water erosion, including irrigational, and deflation of soils, contributed the deterioration of the agroecological state of soils. It was determined that about 16.1 % (286.2 thousand hectares) and 67.2 % (1194.5 thousand hectares) are limited suitable for conducting organic farming. According the actual availability of lands under organic agriculture – 4.3 % (75.9 thousand hectares) of these lands has the potential for expansion the area for organic farming by 4.2 times, in perspective these areas may be expanded to 794.0 thousand hectares (44.7 % of all agricultural lands). It was proposed the model of geoinformation-analytical system structure (GIAS) for organic farming. It is based on use of modern, powerful tools and data processing methods to support agricultural producers in the transition period and continuous support of their development.
