The object of the research is the assessment and formation of investment potential of the region. The purpose of the study is to synthesize theoretical and methodological provisions and to develop scientific and practical recommendations for the formation and development of investment potential of the region on the basis of a comprehensive approach to its evaluation. Research methods: theoretical generalization, comparison and systematization, grouping and classification, statistical analysis, comparative analysis and multidimensional scaling, graphical analysis, SWOT analysis, matrix, simulation modeling, logical generalization of results. Theoretical and practical results: the scientific and methodological provisions of the dissertation work are brought to the level of concrete methods and practical recommendations regarding the directions of formation of investment potential of the region on the basis of a comprehensive assessment that will facilitate the intensification of investment processes and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
