Essay

Dessertation is dedicated to the structural and electronic properties studies of semiconductor nanocrystalls containing the native defects or being doped with the different concentration of impurities. The studies have been performed via the theoretical calculations by means of density functional method. The calculation of geometry structure and density of electronic states of CdS, ZnS and CdZnS nanocrystalls were performed in terms of the plane waves basis. The process of metal and non-metal vacancy formation was simulated, as well as the formation of the interstitial atoms and metal impurity atoms.
