These studies are devoted to planting on the slopes of the city of Kiev, their ecological conditions, the current state and ways of optimization.The features of geomorphological features and ecological conditions of Kyiv slopes are described. The meteorological regime of the surface layer of plantations on the slopes of the city (lighting, temperature and relative humidity of air) is determined depending on ecological and cenotic factors. The modern taxonomic composition of woody and shrub vegetation was determined for the first time, its spatial, biomorphic and ecological structure. The analysis of vital tone was carried out and the characteristics of the ontogenetic spectrum of plants of the main forest-forming species, features of restoration, sanitary condition were provided. The principles of choosing forest and shrub vegetation, taking into account local environmental conditions, have been improved. According to these data, a comprehensive system of measures for optimization of plantations and areas of Kyiv's slopes was developed, as well as the proposed practical proposals.
