A review of features was performed and components of local power supply systems were selected. A new hierarchical classification of dc current-fed voltage converters with soft switching has synthesized on the classification basis of modulation methods. The work of the basic full-bridge topology has been analysed, and a set of new four-quadrant full-bridge topologies of current-fed voltage converters with reduced number of power switches has been synthesized. On the basis of analytical calculations of electromagnetic processes in local power supply systems with the basic and proposed converter topologies, the voltage gain and operating soft-switching ranges of power switches of the voltage and current ports, has been determined. A new method for evaluating of DC converters with soft switching for local power supply systems with battery energy storage is proposed, which allows evaluating the whole range of operating modes on the basis of three normalized values: load parameters of the primary inverter, high frequency transformer and secondary rectifier. The efficiency of the proposed local power supply system in comparison with centralized and combined power supply systems has been evaluated. Distributed 1 kV local power supply systems with battery energy storage on the basis of classical full-bridge and proposed bidirectional current-fed voltage converters with a reduced number of switches has been developed and recommended for implementation.
