The object of the study is the processes of modernization of the economy of the regions of Ukraine on the basis of sustainable development, the purpose of the dissertation work is to develop scientific principles, theoretical positions and methodological recommendations for assessing the quality, principles and concepts of the modernization of the economy of Ukraine's regions on the basis of sustainable development; novelty: the theoretical foundations of the modernization of regional development are researched, the essence of concepts "economic space", "quality of economic space", "sustainable regional development" is specified; the criteria for quantifying the level of quality assurance of the economic space of the regions of Ukraine are determined; the method of revealing hidden factors of quality of the economic space of the region is improved; improved methodology for assessing the quality of economic space on the meso-level; the system of monitoring the evaluation of the economic space of the region has been developed; the organizational mechanism for managing the modernization of the economic space of the region on the basis of sustainable development was improved; the system of principles of cluster development in the framework of modernization of the economic space of the region is supplemented; the conceptual bases of sustainable development of economic space of regions of Ukraine have been improved; Implementation: Zaporizhzhya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Department of Regional Development of Cherkasy Regional State Administration, PJSC "Azot", PE "Incubation Station" Birds of Ukraine ", Zaporizhzhya National University; sphere of use: regional economy.
