The dissertation presents the results of studies of the biological, ecological and decorative features of Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull and its cultivars in the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine.The morphological features of vegetative and generative organs of C. vulgaris and cultivars were investigated. In particular, the features of pubescence of their leaf and stem were studied. It was shown that there are two types of arrangement of vegetative shoots in cultivars of C. vulgaris. Classifications of cultivars according to the morphological structure of the flower and inflorescence were developed.The seasonal rhythm of the growth and development of plants of C. vulgaris and cultivars was established. The duration of their flowering was characterized. Winter and drought tolerance was estimated and promising cultivars were identified. The methods of propagation of C. vulgaris in culture have been studied, and the most effective ones were recommended.
