Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the development of methods for estimating the thermal balance and to substantiate the necessity of increasing the efficiency of cooling of the ventilated discs of the disk-block brake of a MAN truck. The two-dimensional thermal model of the "overlay-disk" friction pair has been developed for prediction of its heat transferability during bench and operational tests. The method of finite element modeling has investigated the influence of thermal currents, mechanical and thermal stresses, as well as their gradients on the origin and development of microcracks on friction belts of different types of disks. Based on the method of mathematical planning of the experiment, regression equations were obtained for determining the basic design and weight parameters of different types of brake discs of all categories of vehicles. Estimated resource of brake pad liners.
