Dissertation analyzes the place and role of the Catholic Church in the socio-political life of early medieval Poland. It based on the study of a wide range of sources and historiographical works. The main attention paid to the system of relations between the Catholic Church and state power in the context of state-building processes and internal political life, in particular, the author argues that the principle of the relationship between the prince's power and the Catholic Church based on the principle of non-conflict and respect. There is also an analysis of the socio-political activity of the church in Poland in the XI - first third of the XII century. This work studies the formation process of the administrative structure of the Polish church. It happened in accordance with the needs of the newly formed Polish state. It is discovering the stages of obtaining an independent status by the Polish church structures. This confirmed by the thesis that one of the main reasons for the struggle for the independence of the church was the desire to separate from the German church structures. It considered the dependence of the Polish church not only in the religious context but also as a means of political influence on early medieval Polish state.
