Horbenko A. Social activity of Catholic Church among the immigrants in Italy during the period from 1991 to 2013.

For the first time, on the basis of archival and published sources, the problem of the social activity of the Catholic Church among immigrants in modern Italy has been comprehensively covered. The historical sources of such activity are investigated. A retrospective analysis of the position of the Church on migration in official documents is carried out. The basic directions and components of guardianship activity among immigrants are revealed. The role of the Church in solving social problems, reducing the tension in society, monitoring the immigration situation and shaping public opinion on the problem are proven. The forms, achievements and difficulties of UGCC social activity among the most recent Ukrainian emigration in Italy are analyzed.
