Essay

The dissertation is devoted for the study of the working process in marine diesel engines and its fuel equipment with small hydrogen additives to the main fuel using. Using hydrogen additives to the main fuel leads to an environmental and economic performance of the ICE improvement. Experimental studies conducted at the Center for Advanced Energy Technologies of NUOS confirmed the increase in the performance of diesel engines, in particular, the increase in power is 1.7 ... 3.4%, the reduction of the specific fuel consumption 2.2 ... 3.7%, depending on the portion of added hydrogen. An experimental booth was developed for studying the influence of the addition of small admixtures of hydrogen on the process of fuel spraying. So, using of small hydrogen additives to the main fuel leads to a shortening of the sprayed fuel torch, and an increase in its opening angle. An improved mathematical model for dissolving hydrogen during the addition of a high-pressure fuel line, which considers the variations of liquid fuel between the injections and the length of the fuel line. The mathematical model of the working cycle of a diesel engine, which considers the influence of the use of small impurities of hydrogen to the main fuel on the process of spraying, has been improved. It has been established that due to the improvement of the cutting quality, the angle of inertia needing correction. The rational fuel injection angle the prevention, which lies in the range -2 ... -7 ° from the factory settings, allows you to increase the effective engine power by 4.1 ... 5.5%. The rational range of addition of a hydrogen admixture which is 0.05-0.15% by weight is determined. The efficiency of using small hydrogen additives on the modern fleet ships is determined.
