Essay

The object of research: electromagnetic and heat processes in the end zone of powerful synchronous generator. The purpose of research: the development and scientific substantiation of method the internal shielding of a stator core end packets for increase the reliability and loading capacity of powerful synchronous machines by reducing the axial magnetic flux magnitude and maximum concentration of eddy currents in core end packets. Methods of research: methods of theory for electromagnetic and heat processes in electrical machines, finite element method, methods of mathematical simulation and multifactor experiment planning. Theoretical and practical results and innovation: designed and scientifically based with help simulation of electromagnetic field and temperature distribution a new shielding of a powerful generator stator core end packets when electroconductive tooth-slot configuration segments is placed and distributed inside the core, that allows to provide a permissible heat level of tooth zone; has further developed a quasi-three-dimensional mathematical model of electromagnetic and heat processes in the end zone of powerful turbogenerator allows description the currents of stator winding frontal part with consider the geometric shape of frontal connections and the load condition of turbogenerator; for the first time experimentally obtained with help a scale physical model of a powerful turbogenerator end zone the dependence of magnetic flux density axial component on the constructive parameters of shielding systems of a tooth-slot segments and their location within the stator core . Subject and degree of implementation: the results of theoretical and experimental researches are applied in the State enterprise «Plant «Electrowazhmash»; developed a complex mathematical model is used in the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants NAS of Ukraine. Effectiveness of implantation: ensuring the permissible heating of stator core end packets for design of new and modernization of existing turbo- and hydrogenerators.
