The dissertation is devoted to the formation of conceptual foundations and development of theoretical and applied foundations of the process of managing the socio - economic development of the region in the food security system. The analysis of the general tendencies of the economic development of the regions of Ukraine in the conditions of food security by generalization and formation of the system of economic characteristics of interregional disparities from the integrated statistical indicators and differentiation coefficients. On the basis of the analysis of differentiation coefficients of economic development of the regions of Ukraine, competitive factors of further economic growth are characterized, among which special attention is paid to the development of agriculture and food industry in the conditions of food security.
