Ovcharenko O. Comprehensive assessment of the level of threats and the mechanism for ensuring the economic security of the region

Object: Comprehensive threat assessment and mechanism for ensuring the economic security of the region. Purpose: Development of theoretical, methodological and applied principles for a comprehensive threat assessment and mechanism for ensuring the economic security of the region. Research methods: system analysis; statistical analysis; grouping; matching; economic and mathematical modeling; cluster analysis; fuzzy sets; expert opinions; graphic visualization. Theoretical and practical results: The obtained scientific propositions, which are the theoretical achievement of the author of the dissertation, have made it possible to obtain new applied results in the form of methodological recommendations, models, and algorithms. These include: methodological approach to a comprehensive assessment of the threat to the economic security of the region; economic security assessment model based on a fuzzy-logical approach; the algorithm of the system of diagnostics and monitoring of economic security at the regional level; approach to the classification of threats to economic security; approach to integrated institutional support of the region’s economic security; structure of a comprehensive mechanism for ensuring the economic security of the region. The use of developments and recommendations will improve the process of managing the economic security of the region by introducing a mechanism for ensuring economic security in the activities of regional authorities. Scientific novelty: Theoretical and methodological approaches have been developed for a comprehensive assessment of the level of threats to the economic security of the region and also have been proposed the structure of a mechanism for ensuring the economic security of the region using a system for monitoring and diagnosing as its elements. Degree of implementation: acts of implementation of the results of scientific research from: Department of Economic Development of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration (No. 492/0/31-19 of 13.05.2019); executive committee of the Kremenchug city council of the Poltava region (No. 01-55 / 922 of 14.05.2019); public organization Center for Urban Development and Information Technology Odessa (No. 124 n of May 16, 2019). Theoretical developments and practical recommendations of the dissertation are used in the educational process of the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology when teaching the disciplines «Modeling of economy», «Models of economic dynamics», «Information management», «Mathematical methods and models of a market economy» (implementation act of 08.05.2019).
