The author has defined the concept and outlined the peculiarities of police training as an object of administrative and legal regulation. The types of police training in Ukraine have been determined. The essence of legal regulation of professional training of police officers in Ukraine has been revealed; and the place of administrative and legal norms has been determined. The system of subjects of administrative and legal provision of police training in Ukraine has been clarified. The levels, directions and subject matter of administrative and legal provision of police training in Ukraine have been determined. Administrative and legal forms and methods of providing professional police training in Ukraine have been outlined. International experience of legal provision of professional police training has been summarized; and opportunities for its application in Ukraine have been determined. The ways to improve administrative procedures and organizational principles of professional police training in Ukraine have been defined. The essence and importance of evaluating the effectiveness of organizational and legal provision of professional police training in Ukraine have been clarified.
