Essay

The object is the physical regularities of the formation of crystalline and amorphous phases in electrolytic alloys obtained by pulse electrolysis. The purpose of the investigation is to establish the physical laws and mechanisms of formation of the structure and phase composition of the iron-based alloys under the pulse current. The methods of investigation are X-ray structural and X-ray spectral analyses, optical and scanning electron microscopy, measurements of specific electrical resistivity and magnetic properties of alloys, differential scanning calorimetry. The concentration intervals and modes of formation of single-phase and two-phase structures in iron-nickel alloys are determined experimentally. The model for calculating the size of crystallites in electrolytic alloys at large cathodic overvoltage is proposed. The phosphorus concentrations and conditions of electrodeposition, at which complete suppression of crystallization processes and formation of an amorphous structure occur, are determined for phosphorus-bearing alloys. The regions of temperature stability of amorphous alloys are determined. The possibility for obtaining the supersaturated substitutional solid solutions with a concentration several times over the equilibrium one is shown. The sphere of application is the educational process, research in the field of nonequilibrium crystallization and phase transformations.
