Essay

A mathematical model for the description of complex conductive-radiative stationary heat exchange in a solid dielectric layer of low thermal conductivity which absorbs, emits and scatters IR radiation, both in volume, and on the surface has been developed. The proposed mathematical model is applied to the description of heat transfer in a heat-insulating covering. An iterative method for solving the direct problem of complex heat exchange in the covering has been developed. An inverse problem for determining the surface radiative properties of layers has been formulated in the frame of model and an iterative algorithm for its solving has been developed. A theoretical-experimental technique for determination of the surface emissivity and reflectivity on the basis of measuring the surface temperature and the IR radiation energy flux emitted by the covering it into the environment is proposed.
