Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the problem of attitudes towards the work of youth with different levels of economic status. The author carries out theoretical and methodological substantiation of the problem of a person’s attitude to work, analyses sociological, psychological and managerial approaches to understanding it. The socio-psychological model of the concept of “attitude to work” is presented as a multilevel system, which acts as part of human relations system and is closely linked to the formation of a person. The concept consists of three main components: motivationally-semantic, emotionally-axiological and behavioral. The levels of attitudeto work are also highlighted: general attitude to work, attitude to the profession, attitudeto work in given specific working conditions. On the basis of the components of the concept “attitude to work”, the key indicators that serve as index of youth’s attitude to work were defined: setting and motivation to work, job satisfaction and emotional attitude to it, professional activityand manifestation of workaholism, industriousness/laziness.
