Saliy O. Agrobiological characteristics and technological brideeng evaluation of new hybrid forms in NSC "Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking named after V. E. Tairov"

The thesis is dedicated to the evaluation of wine hybrid forms of NSC "V.Ye. Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking" to determine the most adapted to the Northern Black Sea area environment, to improve the existing assortment and to create the original basis for winemaking in Ukraine. Prospective hybrid forms 'Selena' and 'Charivnyi' have been selected by a range of valuable characteristics. They were further used in the breeding process. The effectiveness of grafting new prospective hybrid forms onto regional rootstock varieties has been determined. They are supposed to become the main material in Ukrainian winemaking. 'Charivnyi' and 'Selena' hybrid forms have been used as donors of valuable traits in the breeding process. According to the results of research, a patent application was filed for further entry of 'Yarilo' and 'Odeskyi zhemchug' varieties in the State Register of plant varieties for dissemination in Ukraine. Prospective hybrid forms have been propagated and transferred for testing in soil and climate conditions of Zaporizhia and Zakarpattia.
