The dissertation is devoted to the development of mathematical models, software and hardware means and methods to improve the visual quality of images formation, which allowed obtaining a new solution to the important scientific and technical problem of improving the accuracy and speed of image processing in computerized optoelectronic systems (COES), which use digital video cameras as the source of the original images. Improved image quality is achieved by reducing noise level and adaptive change of the video cameras settings. A mathematical model and a method of noise reduction on digital images have been developed, which take into account the average characteristics of the useful signal and noise, which provides increased accuracy and speed of image processing in the COES. It is shown that the developed method is quasi-optimal. Methods for automatic optimization of «Brightness» and «Contrast» parameters of video cameras in the COES have been developed. A technique for determining the noise level of images using parallel computations has been developed, which increases the image processing speed. Based on the obtained mathematical models and methods, high precision and high-speed hardware and software tools for the COES have been developed. Computer modeling, experimental research and implementation of the developed tools in the COES confirmed the adequacy of the mathematical models and the effectiveness of the suggested methods.
