Shkabura Y. France in the socio-political and diplomatic activities of Ch. Rakovsky (1891–1927)

The object of research: France in the period from 1891 to 1927. The purpose of the research: to study the place of France in the socio-political and diplomatic activities of Ch. Rakovsky during 1891–1927, to determine the impact of these activities on French-Soviet relations, economic, political, social and cultural spheres. Methods: analytical, structural-systemic, method of abstraction, deduction and induction, analysis and synthesis, institutional, historical-genetic, comparative, historical-typological, problem-chronological, content-analysis, discourse-analysis. Scientific novelty of the research: based on a wide source base, which includes documents, most of which were introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the place of France in the activities of Ch. Rakovsky as a student, activist of the international socialist movement, publicist, Soviet functionary and diplomat in the period 1891–1927 was determined; the content and discourse analysis of the French press was carried out and the change of Ch. Rakovsky's image on its columns was traced; the role of Ch. Rakovsky in the development of Moscow's foreign policy strategy towards France in the period from December 1923 to September 1924 was studied. The practical value of the study: the materials of the dissertation can be used to supplement special works on the history of the Second International, international relations and foreign policy of the USSR in the 1920s, as well as in the educational process in the areas of «international relations», «the history of the new and modern times», «biography».
