Taking into account the objective goals, modern methods and the multifaceted nature of blood and its components donorship, the author's definition of this concept is formulated, its defining features are systematized. It is established that the main purpose of administrative and legal regulation of blood and its components donorship is to ensure order, stability, balance, protection and security of public relations in the field of blood and its components donorship to meet the health needs of donor blood, its components and drugs whilst ensuring equal and timely access of patients to high-quality and safe components of donated blood in sufficient quantities. Systematic analysis of the regulatory and legal support of blood and its components donorship in modern Ukraine has been carried out. In order to improve the legal framework for blood and its components donorship, it is suggested that comprehensive review of sectoral legislation for its consistency, completeness of regulation, adequacy to modern realities and compliance with international legal acts on healthcare issues should be applied. The main reasons for lacking of efficiency of the domestic system of public administration for blood and its components donorship are highlighted. The main forms and methods of administrative and legal regulation of blood and its components donorship are systematized. The analysis of international legislation on blood and its components donorship has been also put through. The current state of administrative and legal regulation of blood and its components donorship in Belarus, Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova, China, Germany, Poland and Estonia is analyzed. Taking into account the objective processes, regularities and trends within the development of blood and its components donorship, the priority directions of administrative and legal regulation of the relevant sphere of public relations have been identified.
