Essay

The dissertation addresses the important applied scientific problem of expanding the range of stable ignition of GTE combustion chambers by improving the design of the flare igniter and the starting fuel supply mode. It is established the effects of the flare igniter case geometry on the flame flare temperature and regularities determining the geometry effects on the flare temperature. Optimal values of geometrical parameters are determined. By conducting experiments, it is established the regularities that relate the time of open and closed state of starting fuel supply valve to the igniter with the flare flame temperature and their optimal values are found, which makes it possible to expand the range of stable ignition of the combustion chambers. The general methodology for the design of flare igniters for gas turbine combustion chambers is developed, which makes it possible to reduce the time and material resources spent for their design and fine-tuning.
