Essay

In the dissertation thesis the connections of esophageal epithelial metaplasia with Helicobacter pylori, atrophy and intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa, sex and age are investigated. Among 7396 patients over 9 years, a high prevalence of Barrett's esophagus was found to be 275‰. The risk of intestinal metaplasia of esophageal epithelial is lower in the presence of chronic Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis. The risk of gastric metaplasia is reduced in the presence of chronic Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis without gastric mucosal atrophy. The risk of intestinal metaplasia of the esophageal epithelium is twice as high in patients with intestinal metaplasia of the gastric epithelium. The risk of gastric metaplasia of the esophageal epithelium is lower in patients with intestinal metaplasia of the gastric. A model for determining the risk of intestinal metaplasia of the esophageal epithelium based on the presence of risk factors and their combinations was proposed.
