Omeliash U. Pathomorphological features and pathomorphosis of surgical diseases of a thyroid gland in Precarpathian endemic goiter region

The thesis presents theoretical generalization and results of scientific study of pathomorphological features and pathomorphosis of surgical diseases of a thyroid gland in Precarpathian endemic goiter region within the period of 25 years. A range of pathomorphological methods used in the research work are the following: histological, immunohistochemical and statistical. Practical significance of the work gives the possibility to study and compare thyroid pathology in different geographical zones, criteria for pathomorphological diagnosis of combined thyroid diseases were established, diagnostic value of the revealed features of lymphocytic infiltrate composition in the tumor and adjacent thyroid tissue was shown with simultaneous combination of an autoimmune thyroiditis with a papillary carcinoma in one patient.
