Essay

IIn the thesis, explicit expression for the effect of laser pulse broadening for the case of long-distance propagation in Earth’s atmosphere is obtained. The effect of photon trajectories correlation on scintillations under regimes of strong and transition moderate-strong turbulence is elucidated. The impact of initial radius of beam and partial coherence of radiation on statistical properties of laser radiation is shown. The kinetic equation for the distribution function in phase space is derived from first principles. This equation is valid for arbitrary parameters of atmosphere. The ranges of weak and transition weak-moderate turbulence are described using this equation. Explicit expression for fourth-moment of light field in atmosphere is obtained for the case of long-distance propagation. Properties of forth moment and its possible practical applications are elucidated.
