Essay

The thesis is devoted to the substantiation of the parameters of spark arresters for high-voltage electrical discharge equipment on the basis of revealing the influence of the length of the discharge gap and the initial gas pressure on gas-discharge processes. The analysis of the influence of the initial gas pressure and the length of the spark gap in spark gaps on the development of the spark discharge, as well as the analysis of the features of measuring the energy of a low-energy spark discharge is carried out. A numerical model of the spark channel expansion is developed. On the basis of a numerical model of the spark channel expansion, a comparison is made of the development of a spark discharge in nitrogen for the cases of its isothermal and adiabatic compression. To quantify the effect of the initial pressure of energy release, a correlation coefficient is introduced. The technique of studying the near-electrode voltage drop in a spark at the stage of its gas-dynamic expansion in high-pressure gases has been improved.
